Historic Inn Situated at Dwight-Nicholson House

The Boulder Victoria Historic Inn was found at 1305 Pine Street, Boulder Colorado 80302 in the Dwight Nicholson House. The Dwight Nicholson House is a Boulder landmark and is listed in the Boulder Tour of Historic Homes put out by Historic Boulder. It is in the style of Colonial Revival. The primary architectural elements are:

hipped roof
a wide cornice with dentils and swags
decorated, pedimented entrance

The house has had multiple owners who have used at as a personal residence and it has undergone a number of transformations. Consequently, there is some fuzziness about the timeline, but roughly it is thought:

Built in 1866
Renovation in 1872 from Vernacular Wood Frame
Received landmark status in 1977
Renovation in 1990
Opened as an inn in 1991
Inn closed in 2002
Returned to use as a private residence in a $1.06 million sale in 8/2002
A significant interior renovation occurred shortly thereafter

During the 1990s run as an inn, Meredith Lederer functioned as the innkeeper. The property was marketed on the website www.bouldervictoria.com. The inn had six guest rooms and one suite. Each guest room had a private bath although some were not en suite. Daily rates ranged from $109 to $180 single- or double-occupancy. The Boulder Victoria was run as a bed and breakfast with continental breakfast included, as well as afternoon tea and evening port.

The primary attractions of the inn besides the building and furnishings was the proximity to the Pearl Street Mall (just two blocks) and its presence in a quiet neighborhood with other stately residences that are also landmarked.
