Homemade Pancakes Recipe

This makes about eight 3" pancakes.



  1. In large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and sugar. In separate bowl whisk together the egg, milk, and melted butter.
  2. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and combine. The batter should have some small lumps. Be sure not to overmix or the pancakes will be tough.
  3. Heat frying pan over medium heat until a few sprinkles of water dropped on the pan splatter. Butter pan.
  4. Scoop about cup of batter onto pan, spacing cakes a few inches apart. When the bottoms are brown and bubbles appear on the top (2-3 minutes), turn over. Cook until lightly browned.
