The Teakettle Room

Our coziest room features a high-end queen bed by local Verlo Mattress Company, a walk-in closet, and a bath with lovely tile, and a tub/shower. The room also has an antique oak writing desk that sits by the window, perfect for working on your laptop, or perhaps writing a letter to a friend on our Briar Rose stationary. In addition to your private entrance from the interior of the house is an exterior entrance that provides easy access to our backyard sitting area, a relaxing space to sip tea, chat, or quietly observe the array of birds, squirrels, and other friendly wildlife visitors. This also gives convenient access to our rear parking area, which is handy for transporting luggage. The room is named after Teakettle Mountain in the San Juan Range of the Rocky Mountains, 13819 ft / 4212 m high. The narrow summit resembles a teakettle, complete with a loop ‘handle’ formed by a rock outcropping. The spout used to be more prominent, but was significantly shortened in a rockfall.
